the short version
I collect what the site needs to work, and nothing to sell. No ads, no third-party analytics, no tracking across other sites.
what I keep
- Your account: your email, username, and password (stored scrambled, never readable), plus two-factor settings if you turn them on. Your email is never shown publicly.
- Your membership: its status and the Stripe customer it belongs to. Your card details go to Stripe and never reach me.
- What you post: your chat wall messages (words, color, tilt, and where you placed them) and your q&a questions, along with whether you chose to post anonymously.
- Records of what you agreed to: when you buy a membership or ask a question, the exact words you agreed to are saved with it. Membership records hold no name or email and are kept for at least three years, and at least one year after a membership ends.
who helps run the site
- Supabase stores the site's data and handles sign-in.
- Stripe takes payments and holds your card and billing email.
- Resend sends the site's emails. Notices to me about new messages or questions carry no words, only that something arrived.
- Cloudflare Turnstile checks that sign-ups and sign-ins come from people, not bots.
- Vercel hosts the site.
These services keep short technical logs, which can include your IP address, under their own privacy policies.
cookies
The site uses cookies only to keep you signed in. When you pay, Stripe's checkout sets its own cookies to help prevent fraud. The site's fonts are served by the site itself, so nothing is requested from Google.
links
A link card in the journal loads nothing from the linked site and doesn't tell it you came from here.
deleting your account
You can delete your account from your account page; it's deleted 7 days later. After that, your email, username, and membership are gone. Wall messages and answered questions stay up, shown as anonymous, and purchase records stay, with no name or email attached. Stripe keeps its own payment records as the law requires.
